The Perfect Party

Everyone was very excited for the baby shower. There were many presents for the new baby to be opened. Since we don't know the gender of the baby it was twice as exciting. Baby showers are always fun.
First we started with the boy presents. Such cute race car gifts and everything in blue. The girls went crazy over the little blue booty’s for the baby.
Then we opened the girl's gifts. Everyone was in love with the pink jammies that said “I Love Mommy”. The girl presents were absolutely adorable.
Of course we played baby shower games. The race till your water breaks was a hit. Everyone had to put one of these baby filled ice cubes in their drink and whoever's melted first, won.
The baby shower favors were phenomenal. The girls wanted to take all the favors home because they were just so cute. The decorations were just perfect for the genders.
Everyone loved the presents for both genders of the baby. We cannot wait to see the gender of the baby. That will be the most exciting day.

Open letter to: Public Safety

December 3, 2014

Dear Public Safety:
This is ridiculous! Every Tuesday and Thursday after classes, I always move and park my car in the faculty parking lot to be close to the P building where I have cheerleading practice. One day, public safety decided to give half of the girls on my team tickets for parking there. I swear public safety cops aren’t even real cops.
Of course, I get a ticket. The girls on my team and I have been parking there all season. I was so furious to see the ticket on my windshield coming out of practice.

I don’t even know how I am going to pay off the ticket. It is a total of $120. Eighty dollars for restricted parking, thirty dollars administrative fee, and additional ten dollars surcharge for each violation. That is too expensive for a parking ticket.
If my parents find out I’m in a lot of trouble. My dad has my sister’s cars and mine under his insurance. I’ve gotten a ticket before, and my parents grounded me for two weeks.
Now I have to go to court. The ticket clearly states I have to attend court on a specific date and time. The day I have to attend court is when I work and no one is able to cover my shift.
I learned my lesson where to park. I have no choice but to leave my car parked in the student parking lot and just walk to practice. I refuse to get another parking ticket again. I cannot afford to get a ticket and get in trouble.

 Sincerely,

your number one fan

Blog Post #2 Informal Response

Technology is taking over our lives. Every where you go or do has something to do with the use of technology. I agreed and disagreed with Kelli's blog post about “Why Digital is Better Than Print” (Kelli). There were points that were true and some were I did not believe was correct. Many people are addicted to the technology we have today.
We need technology to help us get information. Everyday the internet is constantly being updated with new resources. Kelli states ”Paper is alone when it comes to looking up sources in a quick click. With digital a click away can send you to a lot of different sources” (Kelli). Print can only provide you with one source, digital has a variety of different sources available.
Print isn't always accurate. It consumes a lot of time. Kelli stated in her blog, “Digital is more organized. While print can lose pages and get messed up” (Kelli). I agree with her statement that digital is easier to work with rather than print. Digital is able to provide you with more information than print.
Digital cost less and is better for the environment. Cell phone, ipads, and computers may be an expensive cost but is worth it. In the blog Kelli says, “Digital is Eco-friendly” (Kelli), meaning print consists of paper that has to do with global worming hurting our environment. When you add up the costs of all your books, printers and ink it all adds up and effects the ecosystem.
People will continue the addiction of technology. Digital will just continue to advance while print fades out. Kelli proved her points explaining how digital is better than print with biased and unbiased comments. Our generation will continue to live off technology.

Digital Versus Print

Digital versus Print

People find technology to be more useful than paper print. Our generation continues to come up with new devices. In the article “Why Digital is Better than Print” by Dan Black he explains how digital is more useful in our society. Technology today is becoming more advanced.
It is not common to find people using resources from a book. Print is not always accurate due to events changing on a daily. “
Because digital media is inherently connected to services and new applications – each piece of information can find itself being stretched and morphed in new ways to solve a need.” (2) Digital can always be updated to keep the information correct.
Recently, people have become addicted to technology. All the information we may need is in the palm of our hands.” As our lives have become more focused on information and media in the past few decades, the web has been an amazing tool to integrate the many data streams in your life.” (4) People are able to get there information fast and accurately with the digital devices.
Print uses up paper that effects the environment. Print has many flaws as to why it is inaccurate.” Digital continues to make a compelling case for its future, while print can only hope to convince you that things were better in the 19th century.” (7) Digital will always contain helpful and useful resources.

People in this society will continue to be lazy and go on google to look up information needed. The technology will continue to empower.  Everyone will be able to rely on the digital media to help them now and in the future.

Candy Corn

Candy corn is a sweet replicate of dried kernels. The first thing that comes in mind when people hear candy corn is Halloween. The atmosphere of Halloween is simply amazing. During Halloween children get to go trick or treating, eating all the candy, going pumpkin picking, haunted houses and the fall. I remember when I was younger in school during lunch time the cafeteria always had a jar and you would have to guess how many candy corns were in the jar during Halloween. I love to eat candy corn and having that sweet tooth.   Michael Ian Black states that candy corn tastes "like it was made out of magic" (138).  That statement is definitely true. Michael Ian Black is the correct comic. Most people find candy corn to be delicious and sweet. During Halloween time it is tradition to give out candy to children including candy corn.

First time blogging and I'am very excited. It wasn't easy creating a blog account but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I'm the type of girl who loves to explore and be creative and that being said is pretty ironic because I like to be called Dora and there's a TV show Dora the Explorer. I look forward to learning how to write better in this class and to improve on my writing and reading skills. My dreams and hopes are to become a RN (Registered Nurse). I already work at a doctors office as a receptionist and have graduated BOCES as a Medical Assistant. In the field I am majoring in I know I will be writing and taking this class will hopefully help me. Thank you!
